If you're a lover of yorkshire puddings, go just for the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap.
Atmosphere was ok, if you're looking for a full sit down roast meal I'd recommend elsewhere. But if you want to experience an iconic York staple and finally have enough yorkshire pudding to make you happy it's worth stopping by.

The York Roast Co. is a popular spot, especially for tourists looking to try a classic Yorkshire pudding wrap. The portions are generous, and the combination of roast potatoes, vegetables, stuffing, and gravy makes for a comforting and filling meal. However, if you’re vegetarian, the option is essentially the same as the meat version—just without it. While still tasty, it would be great if they offered a plant-based meat alternative to make it a more substantial choice. The service is quick, and the location is great for grabbing a bite while exploring the city. It’s more of a casual, grab-and-go place rather than a sit-down dining experience, but it’s worth trying if you want a fun, handheld take on a traditional roast.

So very disappointed with our experience at York Roast Co. The food was like warm at best and when I asked for it to be reheated the server looked at me with such an odd expression I was simply embarrassed. The reheated food took about 10mins to turn up and by this time I was so disappointed I didn't feel like eating it.
The next thing was that they had forgotten that we ordered tea and my partner had to go back downstairs to reorder it. Whilst I was eating my now reheated food the server came up with some Apple sauce that he had forgotten and then my wooden fork broke. I didn't have the heart to ask him for another.
Several years ago this restaurant was really good now however, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. So disappointed and wasted £26. As a pensioner this was a disaster.

Pity you can't put zero stars. Been to York several times over the past few years and this place has always looked busy so today we thought we would have lunch there and we now wish we hadn't. The roast was cold with very little meat and how you are supposed to eat a tough Yorkshire pudding with a wooden knife and fork I would love to know. My partner had their food reheated but it still wasn't good. We almost didn't get our tea either. Suffice to say we will not back.

Bang average, basically subway but for roast dinners. The service was pretty poor, the staff kept touching their face/hair etc then the food constantly, was horrid to watch. The food was fine but a little on the small side. The upstairs venue felt like your typical service station, not particularly inspiring or inviting. Not worth the hype.

Went to try their Yorkshire pudding roast and it was so good, but my favourite thing was the pork cracklings. Price is a bit high for the size you get though.

I was really looking forward to visiting, as it’s a place I’ve wanted to try for some time. My partner and I dined in, so we ate our food immediately, but unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the experience.
The contents of the wrap were rather limited — there wasn’t much meat inside, barely any stuffing, and the pork itself was quite dry. To add to this, the food was only lukewarm when served, and had we waited any longer, it would have been cold.
Considering the price per wrap, I expected a more generous portion and for the food to be piping hot. While I think the concept is fantastic, especially for a city like York, this visit didn’t live up to expectations. I’m unsure if we’ll return, but I do hope that if we give it another try in the future, the experience will be much better.

The food was great, and the wait time wasn’t long, but the upstairs seating area was a letdown. It felt stuffy with barely any fresh air, the tables weren’t clean, and the furniture was damaged. For the price of the wrap, I expected a better dining experience, and the portion size could definitely be a bit more generous.
Right now, it feels like a good chunk of what you're paying is just for the branding and location.

Ordered food and watched as the server literally calved up strips of beef meticulously weighing each before putting them in the Yorkshire pudding and passing them over.
The food was barely warm, the only option was wooden forks to eat with and I broke 4 of these trying to cut a potato. There was no chance of cutting the beef or Yorkshire pudding with them!
Shan’t be visiting again it was a real disappointment.

We visited York this weekend, and after coming to the york roast 2 years prior and having a great experience we definitely knew we needed to go whilst we were passing through, unfortunately our experience was no where near the same this time, firstly there was no pork crackling at lunch time on a Sunday! But I ordered the roast potatoes which came and were okay but they came in a small cup and all of the gravy sat at the bottom as it was so watery. On to the wraps...we ordered 2 beef wraps, we eneded up buying an extra portion of beef as the normal portion was rather small, but still we were optimistic, after walking a short distance, (2 minutes) to our car, we opened the wraps, and to our surprise they were soggy, lukewarm, there was 3 carrots in each wrap and the meat was in such large chunks and poor quality that you could not even chew it, it was ridiculously tough, this cost us £30!!!! I'm so disappointed as the standard has clearly dropped since our last visit, was genuinely one of my favourite reasons to visit york, until now.

The Yorkshire pudding was delightful! The Crackling was on point!(crunch, crunch) and don't talk about the pork with the Cranberry jelly ,it just melted in my mouth. We ended up eating somewhere else the next night and regretted it . We wished we came back here because the food was better and cheaper.👍🏽

Very small & very few seatings. It was self-service. It was nothing great - we were expecting more!
